Senior Civil Project Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to take full ownership of site operations across our active construction projects. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be the primary technical authority on-site ? managing foremen, coordinating subcontractors, controlling quality, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a seasoned professional who is as comfortable reading structural drawings as they are driving daily site progress and resolving field-level problems in real time.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSite Management & Execution? Lead and manage all site activities from mobilization through handover? Supervise foremen, subcontractors, and daily labor on multiple concurrent projects? Coordinate material deliveries, plant, and equipment scheduling? Maintain daily site reports, progress logs, and photographic records? Ensure site safety compliance (PPE, method statements, toolbox talks)Technical Oversight? Interpret and implement architectural, structural, and MEP drawings? Manage concrete works: formwork, rebar placement, pouring, and curing? Oversee structural and finishing works to specification and quality standards? Identify and resolve site-level technical issues and design conflicts? Raise and track RFIs and coordinate with design consultantsPlanning & Controls? Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (baseline vs. actual)? Track progress against milestones and flag risks early? Control site-level costs: labor, material waste, and subcontractor performance? Prepare variation and delay documentation in coordination with the office teamQuality & Compliance? Implement and enforce Bild's quality management procedures on site? Conduct inspection and testing in line with project specifications? Prepare quality records: checklists, test results, and snag lists? Ensure works conform to Kuwait Municipality codes and client requirements? Support ISO 9001/14001/45001 implementation on active projectsClient & Stakeholder Coordination? Act as the company's face on-site with clients, consultants, and authorities? Attend site meetings and provide accurate progress updates? Manage client expectations professionally and maintain strong relationshipsREQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIESTechnical Skills? Advanced reading and interpretation of civil, structural, architectural, and MEP drawings? Deep knowledge of concrete structures: columns, beams, slabs, shear walls, foundations? Masonry and blockwork construction methods? Finishing works: plastering, tiling, waterproofing, joinery, and MEP coordination? Rebar scheduling and steel structure basics? Earthworks, piling, and substructure works? Site surveying: total station, leveling, and setting out? Familiarity with Primavera P6 or MS Project for scheduling? Working knowledge of AutoCAD for site drawing review? Understanding of BOQ, variation orders, and contract administrationManagement & Soft Skills? Proven ability to manage multi-discipline site teams of 20+ workers? Strong problem-solving under pressure with a solutions-first mindset? Excellent verbal communication in Arabic (English is a plus)? High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and documentation? Self-driven with strong ownership mentality and minimal need for oversight? Integrity and professionalism in dealing with clients and stakeholdersSkillsQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE? B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university? Minimum 8 years of progressive site experience in Kuwait or the GCC? At least 2 years in a senior/lead site engineer or site manager role? Proven track record on residential villas and/or commercial construction projects? Valid Kuwait driving license? PMP, or equivalent certification is a strong advantage? Transferable iqama (residency) or Kuwaiti national.
