Job Description

Overview: The NEOM Food Regulatory and Government Relations Manager will take a dynamic and forward-looking approach in overseeing NEOMs regulatory framework and advocating for needed regulations that govern agri-food operations. This position includes will be responsible for policy development, regulatory management, strategic advice, and managing external consultants and advisors in the space of regulations. Working closely with government bodies and external regulators, this role is crucial in proposing and advocating for forward-looking regulations and international best practices and ensuring that NEOM Food compliance in the long-run. Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Development and Advocacy:

  • Lead on behalf of NEOM Food the development and implementation of dynamic and forward-looking regulations and policies that support agri-food operations from farm to fork, with all relevant authorities.
  • Advocate for necessary regulations and policy changes at the governmental and regulatory level, with an added emphasis on greenfield opportunities aligned with NEOM Foods ambitions.
  • Identify opportunities and collaborate with external stakeholders, industry groups, and government bodies to promote regulations beneficial to the agri-food industry, considering international best practices.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory trends, including international best practices, and identifying opportunities for advocacy and improvement to proposed regulations in NEOM and KSA.
Project Management Duties:
  • Oversee team and external experts / consultants involved in policy development, regulatory management, and strategic advice, and manage external consultants and advisors in the space of regulations.
  • Provide guidance, support, and direction in the implementation of innovative, evidence-based policies, procedures, and regulations amongst the team and external inter-related departments.
  • Conduct performance reviews and foster professional development within the team.
Compliance Management:
  • Ensure that all regulations are properly communicated and complied with, both internally and externally, including assessing risks to the companys business units and proposing potential implications and mitigations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand and mitigate compliance risks, including potential implications on business units.
Government Relations:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key public sector entities, including local, regional, and national government bodies.
  • Advocate for policies and regulations that align with the organizations goals, working closely with government representatives.
  • Act as a liaison between the organization and governmental bodies, coordinating efforts and communicating organizational interests and concerns.
  • Collaborate with public sector partners to explore opportunities for partnerships, funding, and support in alignment with regulatory and greenfield opportunities.
Strategic Leadership and Advisory:
  • Provide senior leadership with strategic insights on regulatory changes, potential risks, and opportunities.
  • Engage with government agencies and regulators, strengthening relationships and ensuring alignment with business objectives, including greenfield opportunities.
  • Represent the organization in relevant industry forums and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Law, Public Policy, Business, or a related field Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in regulatory affairs, policy advocacy and/or government relations, preferably in the agri-food industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and advocating for policies and regulations.
  • Strong competencies in analytics associated to policies and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
