Bechtel will provide a full range of project management services to support the delivery of this iconic destination.We encourage you to watch this video which gives a glimpse at what we (you) are about to build! https://www.neom.com/en-us/regions/trojenaSummary Of ResponsibilitiesThe Construction Engineer - Lifts & Escalators is assigned to the field construction organization in managing the activities of the assigned contractors works. Responsible for overseeing appointed Contractors Works to include both electrical and mechanical installation activities and ensure that the construction operations and contractors performance are in compliance with project ES&H, quality, schedule requirements, whilst maintaining effective relationships when interfacing with stakeholders.Will be ensuring the testing and commissioning of the Lifts and Escalators are tested individually and fully integrated with the building management system.Essential Job Duties

• Maintain Bechtels Zero Accident Philosophy, and ensure contractors compliance to the project ES&H plans, site security plan, traffic plans, emergency response plan, housekeeping, fire protection and jobsite work rules
• Leads by example in all aspects of the works site. This includes safety, quality, and leadership. Encourages all personnel to follow by these actions and attitudes
• Performs surveillance of Contractors activities w.r.t Mechanical works on the project related to construction of lifts and escalators and ensuring they are installed as per the IFC drawings, specifications, and project quality & safety plans
• Responsible for reviewing the Contractors submitted daily reports and escalate discrepancies in their own records to the SCE accordingly.
• Actively engages with craft professionals on site during each shift to ensure all activities are being completed in line with the approved Risk Assessment and Method Statement and the project ES&H standards. In addition, joint safety inspections with craft supervision are to be conducted and all actions closed
• Liaises with craft supervision within their works area daily on any issues on works not being completed correctly.
• Aware of the project temporary works requirements and site areas temporary works designs. Audits the site works to the temporary designs to check on the correct construction and escalates as required
• Monitors construction activities to ensure they are completed as per approved quality plan, ITPs, procedures and the latest IFC drawings
• Monitoring of equipment preservation and maintenance
• Awareness of all quality documentation to ensure compliance with project designs and specification. Responsible for escalating anything out of specification as required
• Assists in the review of Contractor technical submittals
• Coordinates with engineering design on constructability issues
• Has awareness of and understands Contractor NCRs to ensure close out prior to works progression
• Reviews Contractor estimated quantities and material takeoffs of the field purchases and materials submitted by the contractor and reports any discrepancies. Checks all materials being used are approved for that project activity
• Checks all works are being completed within any permit and / or license conditions
• Monitors that all changes to the works follow the correct process in the form of RFIs and FCDs prior to site implementation
• Completes daily checklist at the end of every shift
• Attends coordination and progress meetings with the Contractor
• Understands different Contractor scopes and escalates should any issues arise on site
• Assists in collating all site documentation required for work section handover
• Coordinates daily with other disciplines such as ES&H, Quality, Survey, etc. to ensure project requirements are met
• Completes plan of the day documentation as required
• Ensure the closure of construction activities are systematic and complete in all respects

Qualifications, Experience, Job Knowledge, And Skill Set Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience in construction, preferably in a similar role
• Minimum bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
• Experience in a Contractor role or in a Project Management Consultant company role with construction responsibility.
• Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
• Preferred experience in installation of the following:
• Passenger or goods lifts or elevators in publicly occupied residential or office buildings
• Lifts and elevators with high grade internal finishes
• Escalators in large publicly occupied buildings such as offices, residential buildings, hotels
• High grade architecturally led projects for public occupancy (such as airports or large residential or office complexes)
• Interfaces between lifts and escalators and building management systems such as fire response systems
• Knowledge of the use of contracts knowledge of the contractor/ subcontractors responsibilities contained in contract documents.
• Experience in KSA / Middle east / GCC is preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the client, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle
• Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment, with a passion to take ownership of projects and provide sound technical leadership to contractors staff and field engineers
