Job Description

We are looking for Work Preparator- Electrical for OmanJOB PURPOSE:To carry out the Machinery and Electrical work as per time frame givenKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Day-to-Day Operationso Receiving of ship tender / ship repair specifications and sort all electrical jobs found and prepare work progress sheets accordingly.o Raising POR for all the jobs, which are beyond the yard workforce and follow from time to time.o Physical identifications and markings of all electrical works to be done on the newly arrive vessel for repair as per specifications given by superintendents together with the owners representative, ship repair manager, estimation, engineer and the mechanical foreman. Clarifications if some on the spot verbal.o Updating of work progress sheets as per physical identification for electrical works, on which jobs were cancelled, to be done by yard and to be given to subcontractors. o Take measurements of miscellaneous fittings, bolts, nuts, gaskets, bearings, o ? rings and other related electrical parts on all electrical works such as Electric Motors, Communications and Navigations and raise a material requisitions(POR) thru DIS yard intranet system on what types and sizes as per required by the system or as per specifications.o Acquire ship original drawings, check all necessary materials, spare parts which needs to be replaced and to be supplied by the yard, raised material (POR) as per spare part no. and as per quantity requirements and conduct a time to time follow up on the yards procurement department especially on those spares that will be coming from abroad and related to undocking works.o Carry out visual inspections on all parts purchased /parts machined or repair/manufactured to make sure it complies with the requirements before passing it to the foreman or to supervisor.o Writing reports on each electrical works & mentioned all works done from overhauling, materials supplied, materials manufactured attaching to the report. Completed reports will be submitted directly to the concerned Estimation Engineer of the yard?s estimation departments.o Compilation of final documents which are highly needs and the content involves, refurbishment / conversion reports, machining process, material certificates, test reports, calibration reports, inspection test results, additional job work scope and submitted to the ship owners / client.o Work to be executed and meet ODC Quality standardso Reporting to Senior Machinery & Electrical Preparator.o Can work with minimal or without supervision during day / night shift duty.o Requires overtime work, holidays, weekends and may works in nightshift duty.o Adherence to mobile use policy according to regulation of ODC.o Other jobs, which will be assign at the discretion of Line Manager, shall be attended.Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment o Ensure compliance to all relevant, health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, delivery of high quality products / service and a responsible environmental attitude.
