Job Description

Job PurposeTo manage hull activities for ship repair and teams in order to ensure the timely and accurate execution of hull work schedules and plans for all ODC ship repair projects while ensuring quality of work and health and safety of employees.Supervision of Subordinates? To manage/ control hull Outdoor & Operation section in all activities for ship repair and teams in order to ensure the timely and accurate execution of hull work schedules and plans for all ODC ship repair projects while ensuring quality of work and health and safety of employees.Hull Schedules? Review scheduling and planning charts and documents, and perform periodical inspections of the work site in order to track the progress of hull jobs such as dimensions, specifications and steel cutting and provide necessary guidance on resolution of related issues in order to ensure all hull job issues are resolved on time and to ensure high quality deliverables.? Manage the effective achievement of objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing staff and providing formal and informal feedback in order to maximize overall performance and team motivation? Provide technical advice to employees on hull activities or related matters to support them in the achievement of their jobs and to provide them with feedback and recommendations for future improvement based on technical issues faced in hull work.? Allocate of Engineer on the vessels? Following the performance of Engineer? Preparing the training requirements for Engineer to meet the Hull Fabrication department objectivesResources Control ? Coordinate with Production Control department and provide inputs on planning of resources and budget required for hull activities in order to ensure the plan created takes into account all activities? requirements.? Oversee the monitoring and control of materials, equipment and manpower resources in the Hull department and continuously update the Production Control department in order to highlight any inconsistencies or deviations in the plan well in advance allowing for pan modification and appropriate action taking. ? Liaising with planning and documentation section head to review the schedule and planning charts document and perform periodical inspections of the work site in order to track the progress of hull activities, make necessary adjustments and to report the status to the Managers.? Manage the resource control of the outdoor & operation section in the Hull department in order to ensure effective utilization of manpower and materials to produce optimum outputQuality Control ? Ensure adherence to and maintenance of the quality of hull activities in order to ensure readiness for quality control inspections. Progress Updates and Documentation? Ensure that all hull activities findings and production updates are reported to the Senior Manager ? Hull using the agreed format so that critical events and potential delays are timely and accurately communicated for prompt action, thus minimising impact on overall schedules.? Review, manage and ensure the development of relevant hull activities documentation, progress, challenges and issues faced in order to ensure timely and accurate availability for any future reference and to ensure timely resolution of escalated issues.Technical Advice and Troubleshooting ? Provide technical advice to subordinates on hull related matters to support them in the achievement of their jobs and to internal departments (e.g. ? Production Engineers?) to provide them with feedback and recommendations for future improvement based on technical issues faced in manufacturing.Continuous Improvement? Motivate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading practices, improvement of processes and productivity improvement.Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures? Implement approved Hull departmental policies, processes and procedures, provide instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment? Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, delivery of high quality products/ service and a responsible environmental attitude.COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:?
