Technician - Electrical

Job Description

We are looking for TECHNICIAN - Electrical for Oman.Purpose: Maintains and repairs cranes, RTGs, spreaders and rolling equipment of less complexity and difficulty in the engineering shift. Performs preventative maintenance various equipment as scheduled. Essential Duties and Responsibilities1.Checks and be able to interpret analog and digital electronics, electrical and electro-hydraulic drawings in the repairs manuals.2.Carry out independently the safely the electrical Preventive Maintenance Services (PMS) and repairs of the following equipment:a. DC electrical motors such as replacing carbon brushes, filters etc.b. AC/DC inventor drives such General Electric (GE), Siemens and FUJI Brands.c. PLC control system of GE, Siemens, and FUJI Brands.d. Bromma system of RTGse. Electrical system of QCsf. High Voltage switchgear and transformers.g. Motor generator sets.h. Instrumentation system.i. Electrical system of Mobile Cranes.j. Electrical systems of rolling equipment. 3.Diagnoses and repair promptly the QC, Mobile Cranes, RTGs, spreader and rolling equipment faults during heavy operation.4.Operates the industrial computer to trace the electrical faults and troubleshooting within time limits.5.Checks and test faults by using and operating analog and digital electrical testers such as Megger, Voltmeter/ Resistance tester, etc.6.Ensure proper understanding in Programmable Logic Control system and AC/DC.7.Checks all electrical and electronic components such as Diodes, Resisters, Proximity switches , Thyristors, Transistors, Capacitors, solenoid coils, Printed circuit boards, Limit Switches, Fuses, Motors, Meters, etc.8.Needs fully understanding how to operate QCs, s, MHC Cranes and Mobile Cranes, RTGs, spreaders and rolling equipment.9.Ensures that the maintenance, breakdown services and or remedial works (electrical) of container handling cranes, RTGs, spreaders and rolling equipment are maintained a.Carries out maintenance and repair service for container handling gantry cranes, rubber tyred gantry cranes, spreaders and rolling equipment.b.Ensures that emergency work is followed up by reporting to the senior technician - electrical and/or foreman electrical.c.Carries out electrical/electronic maintenance repairs, fault findings and monitoring.d.Submits routine and critical inspection and monitoring reports.e.Ensures work conforms to safety rules and regulation.f.Ensure tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment.g.Carry out those duties assigned by the senior technician - electrical and/or foreman electrical.10 Provides complete and accurate written reports on equipment, as needed.11.Performs minor electrical repairs and assists the Sr. technician - electrical in such activities as assembling, dismantling and overhaul of equipment electrical components such as motors, alternators etc.12.Performs scheduled preventive maintenance activities.13.Records spare parts that are used, and other data, as required, for record keeping.14 Reconditions usable parts to control maintenance costs.15.Follows instructions regarding assignments.16.Follows the safety and health rules and regulations for the work area.17.Maintains a tidy, neat and clean work area.18.Provides complete and accurate reports to foreman, as needed.19.Performs any other related activities, as requested.
