Operations Manager Department: MSW Operations Qualification: Bachelor Degree Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in WM operations covering all WM operational aspects like contract management, transfer stations, landfills etc. Major: Civil & Environmental Engineering Job Description: CORE OBJECTIVES:To manage Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) operations in the assigned region(s) in an effective, efficient and sustainable manner in line with the laid down framework, processes and systems for the same?KEY RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic and Managerial ResponsibilitiesDevelops, and ensures adherence to the annual plan for the Section/ RegionMonitors and reports key metrics for the Section/ RegionProvides inputs related to own Section/ Region in the budgeting process and ensures adherence to the assigned budgetsEnsures smooth coordination and alignment with other Sections/ Regions in own DepartmentCore ResponsibilitiesMonitors and manages contract delivery and service provider performance in the assigned regions across WM operations contracts (related to waste collection, storage,transfer, landfills, recovery)? and ensures that the contracted levels of service are met in terms of specifications, timelines, and quality parametersActs as a single point of contact for MSW operations for assigned regions, liaising with waste operation specialists (including those within the MSW Planning and Landfill)for technical advice and support for addressing any issues that arise in contract implementation.Monitors, analyzes and reports to key metrics regarding the contractors? progress, services provided etc. within the assigned region.Manages critical stakeholder interactions in the assigned regions - with service providers,customers, municipalities etc.Reviews and approves service provider claims for the works carried out within assigned regions.Leads, manages and guides MSW Operations Officer(s) to ensure effective contract delivery on-the-ground.Leads collection of data and provides inputs related to the regions and contracts they manage, for any planning and monitoring related activitiesEnsures that guidelines with respect to environment & sustainability and health &safety are adhered to across the region by the contractorsPeople Management ResponsibilitiesManages the performance of direct reports through clarifying performance objectives/ KPIs, monitoring progress and providing feedback on an ongoing basis.Provides coaching along with development inputs and opportunities to direct reports in order to build their skills towards improving their performance as well as potential.Perform other responsibilities as directed by EVP MSWS or DH MSW Operations in order to meet organizational objectives.
