Job Description

Whats On Your Plate

  • Manage and develop 3-5 designers
  • Owning design strategy and management of a large chunk of our user journey (design practice for 4-5 squads)
  • Manage design bandwidths and be the hiring manager for your team
  • Work with product leads to articulate the vision and evolution of the product/discipline area for quarters ahead
  • Seen as the go-to expert over multiple squads, is able to effectively utilize product functionality to drive big company objectives
  • Drive experience first problem-solving practices within the product squads
  • Ensure pixel-perfect design quality and design system alignment with the designers on your team
  • Having an impact through people by developing great relationships with designers, helping and challenging them to succeed
  • Provide clear feedback and coaching to designers
  • Ensure designers have clear goals that support them in delivering impactful work
  • Understand and support our journey toward becoming a world-class design team
  • Think in terms of scalable systems, not just one-off solutions
  • Meet the bar for delivery of design work within your design team
  • Connect with the craft of design, especially high-quality, modern design/research
  • Give useful design feedback in a clear, respectful way
What Did We Order
  • 6+ years of experience in digital product design, with 3+ years of people leadership experience managing product designers
  • Experience with building, hiring, and mentoring high-performing teams
  • Have a transparent, candid, and constructive approach to feedback with a keen ability to identify areas of opportunity and improvement
  • Track record of delivering business impact, and can speak to design decisions that drive meaningful product value
  • Strong understanding of how engineering, analytics, and user research intersect with design
  • A portfolio of relevant design work, performed by you and the teams youve led, that demonstrates your ability to create products that people love
