Job Description

JOB PURPOSETo provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Contribute to the development of targeting tools, plans, and processes, ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidance
  • Provide technical and analytical support to WFP to inform beneficiary verifications, targeting and prioritization decisions.
  • Conduct desk research and literature reviews on beneficiary targeting, verification and other related topics to enhance effectiveness of these processes.
  • Engage and coordinate with local authorities?, cooperating partners, and T&R central team to ensure smooth implementation of targeting and registration activities.
  • Support in implementing integrated targeting strategies covering the entire Programme portfolio including general food assistance, livelihood, resilience-building, nutrition, and school-feeding programmes based on the existing best practices.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - CONTINUED
  • Conduction of sensitization meetings/trainings to the local authorities and CPs, training/oversight of the committees at different levels (district, sub districts and village level).
  • Train the CPs on the development of the targeting micro-plans and budget and ensure that concerned CPs develop accurate micro-plans and budget in the system.
  • Support the capacity building of WFP staff, cooperating partners and government on beneficiary verification and targeting processes.
  • In close collaboration with the M&E team, support set-up of structures and systems to monitor targeting processes and outcomes in, including whether selected beneficiaries align with eligibility criteria, vulnerable groups were excluded from selection, proportion of people in need covered by assistance, transfer values provided, and the outcomes on assisted and non-assisted populations.
  • Document lessons learned/best practices and actively contribute to new and refining existing guidance, tools and learning materials based on field experiences.
  • Any other related tasks as agreed with the supervisor and Programme team.
