Roles & ResponsibilitiesTechnical Manager ? ConstructionJob PurposeThe Technical Manager is responsible for leading and managing all technical, engineering, design coordination, and construction-related technical activities across assigned projects. The role ensures that designs, drawings, specifications, materials, and construction methodologies are technically compliant, coordinated, cost-effective, and delivered in accordance with approved project schedules, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical ManagementLead and manage all technical activities throughout the project lifecycle.Review and coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, infrastructure, and specialist design requirements.Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and authority requirements.Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.Resolve technical issues and provide timely engineering solutions.Design & Engineering CoordinationReview design drawings, shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical submissions.Coordinate between design consultants, project teams, subcontractors, and specialist contractors.Identify design clashes, discrepancies, and constructability issues.Lead design review meetings and ensure timely closure of technical comments.Support value engineering and design optimization initiatives.Construction SupportProvide technical support to construction and site teams.Review construction methodologies and ensure technical feasibility.Monitor site execution against approved drawings and specifications.Assist in resolving RFIs, technical queries, NCRs, and site-related technical challenges.Ensure construction activities align with approved design intent and project requirements.Project Planning & CoordinationCoordinate technical deliverables in line with project milestones and construction schedules.Monitor design, approvals, material submissions, and technical documentation.Identify technical risks and potential delays and recommend corrective actions.Coordinate with project management, procurement, commercial, quality, and construction teams.Quality & ComplianceEnsure technical works comply with project specifications, approved designs, authority regulations, and international standards.Support QA/QC teams in resolving technical issues.Review and approve technical documentation within delegated authority.Maintain proper records of design changes, approvals, and technical decisions.Stakeholder & Consultant ManagementAct as the primary technical point of contact for consultants, clients, authorities, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.Attend technical meetings and provide expert advice.Manage technical coordination with consultants and specialist contractors.Ensure timely responses to technical queries and approvals.Team LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop technical and engineering team members.Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.Promote technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Ensure effective communication between technical, construction, and project management teams.Desired Candidate ProfileRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.Professional certification or membership of a recognized engineering body is preferred.Relevant technical or project management certification is an advantage.ExperienceMinimum 10?15 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.Experience in a technical management role within a main contractor, developer, or engineering consultancy.Strong experience in large-scale residential, commercial, high-rise, infrastructure, or mixed-use construction projects.Proven experience in design coordination, construction support, technical problem-solving, and stakeholder management.Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of construction methods, engineering principles, and technical standards.Proficiency in reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.Knowledge of relevant local authority requirements and international construction standards.Experience with AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, Navisworks, or other relevant technical software.Strong understanding of design coordination and constructability reviews.Knowledge of quality management systems and technical documentation processes.Key CompetenciesTechnical leadershipDesign and
