Warehouse Assistant

Job Description

Objectives: Ensure all products in and out of the Warehouse are handled and store in designated locations, safely and in an efficient manner. Responsible for picking of items for delivery as well as replenishment for shop floor.Main Responsibilities:Report any damages or issues to the Warehouse Supervisor immediately and action any rectification procedures as identifiedIs vigilant and checks thoroughly for product damageAll products are assembled properly and without any damageOrders for Customer Delivery and Assembly and Store Replenishment are picked correctly and placed in the correct designated area for dispatchPick customer collection items quickly and efficiently when requested by the Warehouse Stock CoordinatorsKnow the fabrics, textiles, woods and materials of furniture sold in the Store. Maintain an up to date knowledge of products, especially with regards to handling and care of the products, in addition to any special Features and Benefits (F.A.Bs)All receipts and dispatches of stock are completed in a timely mannerOrders for Customer Delivery and Assembly and Store Replenishment are picked correctly and placed in the correct designated area for dispatchAll picked items are packaged to a high standard in order to avoid damage in transitPick customer collection items quickly and efficiently when requested by the Warehouse Stock CoordinatorsLoading and unloading duties followed when required utilizing safe working practices and by ensuring safety of products at all timesStore all products in designated locations, safely and in an efficient mannerStore products into the correct locations as directed by Warehouse SupervisorInform Warehouse Stock Coordinator on bin to bin transfers when products are relocated within the warehouseProvides support and assistance to other Team membersReporting to: Local Distribution ManagerAccommodation provided REQUIREMENTS: Nature and length of previous experience:Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in warehousingPhysically capable of lifting stockAbility to operate furniture assembly tools and equipmentUniversity Qualifications: High School DiplomaSpecialist Knowledge:Communication Skills (Verbal, Written)Furniture AssemblyProduct knowledgeProblem solvingSoft Skills and Personality traits:AccuracyAttention to detailFlexibilityIndependencePersonal MotivationPro-activityTeamworkLanguage Fluency: English fluency is essential for this roleGender Preference: Male
