Sr. Construction Supervisor

About this role:

• Supervise and control general backfill and compaction works
• Good knowledge and familiar with architectural finishes
• Supervise road works, cable trenching and backfilling
• Supervise the erection of underground piped and cabled services
• Supervise steel structural works
• Supervise and manage major concrete pours
• Supervise and manage excavation protection works
• Maintain a daily record of progress (daily diary) noting special comments. Reports to Construction Lead / Head of Construction work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommends corrective actions
• Liaise with quantity surveyors in order to determine physical progress and the amount (%) of completed work for the preparation of related monthly progress and invoices
• Check and ensure that all civil/structural steel construction works are completed in accordance with Company and project approved standards, contract specifications and AFC drawings
• Act as a work permit approver on behalf of COMPANY and ensures contractors compliance with the agreed conditions stated on the approved work permits
• Participate in development of as-built drawings/documentation
• Participates and leads assigned MC walkdowns on civil and structural steel works. Prepare Punch list for finished work prior to hand over to COMPANY by contractor by paying special attention to finished depths, levels and dimensions of various buildings and road works
• Coordinates own discipline works with other COMPANY Construction Supervisors, QC inspectors (Mech. / Elect. / Instrument, etc) and HSE Supervisors to manage the overall safe execution of site activities in accordance with the project schedule.

• Candidate must possess a degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized University
• Candidate should have a minimum of 12 to 15 years overall experience in civil and structural construction activities in Oil & Gas projects with specific stated experience in
  • Site mobilization and preparation works
  • Soil improvement, incl Dynamic Compaction methods
  • General surveying works, incl, setting out methods, underground scanning
  • topographical & geotechnical surveys
  • Excavation and shoring techniques
  • Compaction methods, incl testing
  • Construction of storage tank foundations in crushed rock and / or reinforced
  • Concrete
  • General RC equipment foundation & structures construction
  • Steel erection, incl alignment and bolt tightening methods
  • RC Buildings and architectural works
• Minimum 5 years experience in dewatering techniques for civil works, incl an understanding of the need for environmental permits and controls required before commencing dewatering
• 7 to 8 years overall experience in Construction of Electrical Substations up to 33kV and Control Rooms with exposure to civil works connected with substation electrical equipment, ICSS equipment, HVAC equipment, fire alarm & loss prevention, earthing, lightning protection and building services
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills in English to interface and communicate with internal and external departments, agencies, contractors and vendors. Fully conversant with office and engineering software applications relevant to the discipline
• A Minimum of 10 years experience as an EPIC contractor holding Superintendent or Snr Construction Supervisor level positions. Additional minimum of 5 years as a client or PMC superintendent / snr construction supervisor is preferred
• Previous experience in State of Qatar Industrial cities and/or other GCC countries is preferred.
