Job SummaryThe Senior Estimation and Tendering Manager develops the Estimation and Tendering strategic objectives and plans. This role is responsible in developing high quality winning proposals for existing customers and potential clients and provides support to management during the pre-tender process starting from evaluating/ assessing tenders, assessing risk factors to arrive at bid decisions, and estimating all the required material, equipment, and manpower needs to be able to arrive at reliable cost estimates for bidding projects.Job Responsibilities 1Oversees the organization?s estimating processes and activities to provide financial support for tenders, and projects reviews.Effective Tendering Management that will result to winning bids and contracts of projects.Effective budget preparation that will result to high profit and business continuity.Provides leadership in processes of construction cost estimates, valuation of engineering work, and budgets.Establish and maintain the estimating and tendering evaluation procedures.Studies, analyses and evaluates tender documents in order to identify risk factors, ensuring that technical terms comply with the relevant standards and communicates with all concerned department for the overall risk assessment and bid decision.Job Responsibilities 2Reviews and finalizes project cost estimates as prepared by the Estimation Engineer in terms of the required material as per bill of quantities (BOQ), amount of work, material/ equipment/ and manpower requirements during the tendering phase including all systems, products and services to client specifications/ requirements.Leads in providing all the necessary project clarifications/ information upon project award to the Project Manager as per the project budget; advises the Project Manager on contractual rights, remedies which has been taken into consideration during tendering.Lead, manage & direct the Estimation Managers and Managing QS team that will result in winning bids and contracts of the projects.Review CCS (Candy) for estimates of work based on take-offs and productivity information prepared by Estimation Manager.Review all Tender and Estimating documents including Instruction to Tenderer?s, Contract Conditions, BOQ, Specifications and Tender Drawings.Advise the Tender team for further procedure and deploy a particular team for individual tenders.Additional Responsibilities 3Job Knowledge & SkillsKnowledge in resources planning, detailed estimate rate calculations etc.?Experience? in Cost estimating packages such as CCS (Candy) will be a distinct advantage.Extensive Knowledge in MS word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, QS related Software & Web search/Internet.Experience on ERP system is preferred.Knowledge of local material rate, labor gang productivities and Subcontractors.Detailed knowledge of construction contractual matters as well in quantity surveying methods, techniques and tools for contracting.Job Experience12 years Total6 years On Job4 years GCCCompetenciesCollaborationAccountabilityResilienceQualityLeadershipCreates Strategy - ProficientDrives Performance - ProficientDevelops Future Leaders - ProficientCost Management L4Stakeholder Engagement & Communication L4Contract/Bid Documents L4Project Estimating L4Document & Record Control L4EducationBachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or any related field
