Job Description

About this role:

  • Lead advanced pavement investigations in critical sites to identify causes of defects and propose appropriate repairs.
  • Conduct advanced research, analyze data, and provide recommendations and improvements to current or proposed Companys pavement management procedures such as performance.
  • modeling, and effectiveness of pavement maintenance.
  • Develop and implement new technologies, suitable for the road network in Qatar, for pavement evaluations and preservations.
  • Provide technical advice on monitoring and evaluating materials and maintenance and rehabilitation treatments.
  • Support ROMD Sections in achieving recycling targets in pavement maintenance and rehabilitation activities.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to ROMD staff and partners on performance-based contracts and bets practices.
  • Review and update current procedures, codes of practice and manuals for pavement distresses, maintenance, and rehabilitation activities.
What you need to bring:
  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering or higher-level qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Holder of Chartered Membership in relevant discipline (e.g., Engineering) would be an advantage.
  • Holder of Accreditation from known Institute would be an advantage.
  • Holder of current/valid Qatar Driving License
  • A minimum of 18 years related experience, including pavement engineering, pavement management and non-destructive testing of pavements.
  • A post-graduate degree related to pavement engineering and/or management would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of pavement engineering demonstrated by experience in pavement design, investigation, and research.
  • Knowledge or experience of USA or UK pavement design methodologies
  • Knowledge of materials behavior underlying standard specifications
  • Construction inspection experience related to paving.
  • Strong client management experience.
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager, having led teams involved in pavement engineering and management.
  • Well-developed written communication skills in the preparation of technical reports, correspondence and proposals are also important.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft suite of applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
