Job Description

The nursery teacher has a number of general responsibilities in her daily teaching job. Must provide a wonderful learning environment for the children, teach them how to interact with others and help them with their daily needs. She will instruct them in basic educational programs, teach them to be creative and provide them with a safe and caring environment to learn and grow.MAIN DUTIES:Key responsibilities and accountability:

  • Planning and maintaining a safe, clean, learning environment and in assuring the wellbeing and safety of the children in her care.
  • Developing and implementing lessons and work schemes.
  • Organising and supervising play and work activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour from children and to assist in establishing good standards throughout the nursery.
  • Maintains a positive, calm attitude and a soft voice, and encourage this attitude and voice in others working in the classroom.
  • Monitor children?s progress, keep meaningful records and evaluate performance through formative assessments in line with nursery policy.
  • Ensure equal opportunities through meaningful classroom practice in order to achieve outcome.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining appropriate resources and equipment, the classroom indoors and outdoors and ensuring that it is safe, clean and tidy the start and end of each session.
  • Have a good, up-to-date working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and know how to use and adapt them, including how to personalise learning to provide opportunities for all learners to achieve their potential.
  • Be a good example in terms of punctuality, attendance, behaviour and dress, and to the development of the nursery?s reputation and standing within the community.
EXPERIENCE:At least 2+ years on the same level preferably in a nursery here in Qatar, with proven track record.
