About this role:

  • As Utilities areas Instrument lead, candidate needs to demonstrate leadership, maintains close liaison with members of Engineering, quality, construction, operations Teams in planning and execution driving EPC contractor to deliver as per project milestones. Provides Instrument pre-comm/comm expertise, to integrate multiple packages to lead safe execution of the instrument Pre-Comm and Commissioning scope of work in accordance with project deliverables and execution schedule..
  • Review, approve Instrument Pre-Comm/Comm check sheets, Construction Work Packages, integrate vendor standard design into overall project scope and provide supervision of pre-comm/comm scope of work by EPC contractor, supports contractor by helping to address gaps and coordination with operations and other disciplines within CPY team.
  • Assesses and validates EPC Contractors procedures for SIMOPS and pre-comm/comm activities and validating contracts. Provide assurance of CTR/SCTR adhere to Project SHES procedures and do people planning to support start-up.
  • Manages the Instrument discipline deliverables updates/relines and support field engineering where needed in support of pre-comm/comm activities. Where needed, share lessons learned, develop short term mitigation plans to achieve intermediate milestones and briding scope for final completions.
  • Responsible for following up and assuring schedule and related milestones are achieved, provides data (rundown curves, charts, graphs), identify material & skills gaps, develop recovery plans to address any schedule delays if any. Review, update and amend procedures and specifications to ensure that all pre-comm/comm references are up to date and relevant.
What you need to bring:
  • Bachelors Degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience as an Instrumentation Commissioning Engineer with a broad knowledge of commissioning planning and execution experience, for Utilities areas or LNG liquefaction facilities or large Oil & Gas facility.
  • Experienced pre-commissioning/commissioning large Utilities packages such as Boilers, Steam Turbines, GTGs, HSRGs and field instrumentation such as Smart Transmitters (HART), Smart Junction Boxes, Instrument Asset Management Systems, Fiscal Metering Systems, Tank Gauging, Specilaity Analyzers / sampling systems, Gas Chromotographs, Control & On / Off Valves, ESDV, Blowdown Valves and accessories, MOVs, Fire & Gas devices, BMS / Flare Panels and speciality instruments associated with large compressors.
  • Good understanding of International (ISA/IEC) Standardsand best practices in the areas of Instrumentation installations.
  • Demonstrated experience of using Instrument calibration tools andinstrument configuration set-ups.
  • Expertise in systemization, development of instrumentation pre-comm/comm procedures.
  • Strong leadership skills, experience leading contractor teams.
  • Experience with Smart Completions database use and set-up desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning and coordination skills.
  • Strong technical, prioritization and management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, etc.
  • Good communication, influencing and interface skills.
