Group Consolidation Accountant

CLIENTLinum Consults client is a major international company currently seeking a Group Consolidation Accountant with excellent communication skills to be based in Qatar.RESPONSIBILITIESManaging all aspects of financial consolidationEnsuring that month-end close, consolidation, and reporting are completed on time and in accordance with IFRS GAAPEnsuring that each division completes their submissions accurately and on timeProviding training and support to divisions; explaining variances and resolving any inconsistencies or issues with the financial information providedManaging the elimination of intercompany transactions and balancesLiaising with various international divisions to provide guidance and advice on technical accounting and group policy requirementsFinding improvements and simplifications for the financial consolidation process while maintaining a high degree of accuracyConducting reviews and approving monthly account reconciliations and miscellaneous schedules prepared by senior accountantsRolling out the accounting, reporting, and consolidation systems to new subsidiariesCoordinating with external auditors during the annual year-end audit processEstablishing and maintaining a solid and robust internal control system REQUIREMENTS: PROFILEDegree qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, ideally with an MBA or masters in Finance.Professional qualification such as CFA, CMA, CA, CPA, or ACCA is essentialAt least 5-7 years experience in Accounting and Internal Control, with around 2-3 years in a similar position or level of responsibilityExcellent technical English, with a strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely to both internal and external stakeholders.
