General Accountant

Job Description

Key tasks-Responsible for supervising and managing staff in accounts receivable department, including training new and existing staff-Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.-Documents financial transactions by entering account information.-Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.-Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.-Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.-Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.-Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.-Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.-Secures financial information by completing data base backups.-Maintains financial security by following internal controls.-Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.-Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.-Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.-Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.-Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.-Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed REQUIREMENTS: Skills-Level of Education Bachelor / LicenceAreas of study-Economy, Finance, AccountingProfessional experiences-3 to 5 yearsLanguages essential-EnglishOptional languages-ArabicEssential and optional requirements-Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position within in a luxury/upscale hotel is a must.-Pre-opening previous experience in Middle East luxury/upscale brand is a plus.-Applicable Diploma or Bachelors Degree-Ability to be persistent, patient, creative and flexible.-Exceptional work ethic and commitment and Self-motivated.-Excellent written and oral communication skills. Arabic is an advantage-Highly developed problem solving and prioritization abilities.-Strong organizational and people skills.-Budgeting & strategic planning experience and problem-solving skills-Fluent in Opera-Special skills in Sun System and Fidelio know-how-Excel -Power Point -Word -Micros -Opra
