Employment: Full Time Primary Purpose of the PositionResponsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of SafetyManagement Services (Fire Safety Department). Executive Director shall developand implement fire and life safety management strategies aiming to promote theorganizations goals and objectives; manage an effective team of leaders byproviding guidance and coaching to subordinate managers; lead and motivate staffto ensure adherence of the organizations daily activities and long-term plans thatfollow established policies and legal guidelines while understanding theorganizations financial and non-financial position by working with corporate partnerssuch as Human Resources, Security, Employee Relations, Legal, and otherbusiness unit leadership.In addition, the Executive Director (Fire and Life Safety Management) is responsiblefor protection of patients, staff, visitors and properties pertaining to fire and life safetyin conjunction with establishing procedures in compliance with local and internationalfire and life safety regulations.Principal Accountabilities1) Demonstrate knowledge- and application of the CLIENT mission, vision, and values.o Maintain Fire and Life Safety management programs in line with corporateobjectives.e Plan, organize and manage the annual programs for verification of compliancewith local and international standards.G Thinks strategically with a safety point of view and understand the probableimpact of management decision on the organization.Review the overall plan and strategy of Fire and Life Safety department whichconsists of fire, life and general safety and implement across CLIENT.$- Provide regular reports to all relevant higher authority on current position ofSafety Management Services.6 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in legislation and guidance related tofire and life safety to apply it in CLIENT.G Maintain standards of personnel training and knowledge by ContinuousProfessional Development (CPO).Ensure that all CLIENT staff included in CPD for fire and life safety.o Provide adequate training resources to comply with JCI requirements.c Liaise with QCDO in Qatar in applying the fire and life safety regulations.576 Chair the Corporate Safety Committee and assist facility safety committees thatwill assist with the development of all fire, life and general safety policies andprograms and with implementation of these policies within all CLIENT workplace.e Ensures fiscal integrity through the implementation of an operational budget inconsistent with the overall strategic plan.e Establishes a program for general awareness for fire and life safety.o Plan, organize and manage the annual programs for verification of compliancewith local and international standards.Review the overall plan and strategy of Fire and Safety department whichconsists of fire, life safety and general safety and implement across CLIENT.o Provide regular reports to all relevant higher authority on current position ofSafety Management Services.o Implement life safety measures across CLIENT in accordance with NFPA 101.G Maintain up-ta-date knowledge of changes in legislation and guidance relatedNFPA101.G Provide training and awareness to all staff on life safety measures in CLIENT.Liaise with hospital administration and ensure compliance to their requirements.G Liaise with QCDO in Qatar in applying the life safety regulations incoordinationwith Executive Director (Fire and Safety Management).6 Ensure departmental budget is prepared in consultation with the counter parts inthe department.} Actively participates in committees, meetings as assigned.o Complies with CLIENT policies and _procedures.e Perform other related duties--and assignments as directed. REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications and Experience:Shall have either Category A or Category B Qualifications and ExperienceCategory A:19 -- A minimum of 5 years of management experience leading a department or teamsof personnel responsible for fire safety or occupational health services.c Licensed/Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) who has passed the FireProtection Engineering examination administered by the National Council ofExaminers for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) and has a minimum of four(4) years of cumulative health care related experience designing, surveying, andproviding consulting services related to all facets of fire protection systems (firealarm, firefighting/suppression, and smoke control HVAC), and life safety (NFPA101), based on the applicable NFPA codes and standards.Category B58e A minimum of 5 years of management experience leading a department or teamsof personnel responsible for fire safety or occupational health services.e Other than F.P.E. Licensed/Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) who has aminimum of six (6) years of cumulative health care related experience designing,surveying, and providing consulting services related to all facets of fire protectionsystems (fire alarm, firefighting/suppression, and smoke control/HVAC), and lifesafety (NFPA 101), based on the applicable NFPA codes and standards.Skills:Possesses excellent leadership skills and ability to lead, supervise and motivate ateam of staff. Have excellent planning, decision making, problem solving andorganizational skills. Must have thorough knowledge of industry internationalstandards, and ability to interpret for specific application within sphere of relevantdisciplines. Communication & negotiating skills as well as an ability to work in amulticultural team environment must be well developed and proven.Independence:Works within the framework of approved corporate policies, procedures andstandards, while exercising a high degree of -independence in selectingmethodologies to perform the responsibilities and tasks and in providing expertadvice on a wide variety of technical issues.Problem Solving:Evaluate and provide solutions for particular, critical technical issues. Review andrecommend resolution of particularly complex and non-routine problems, or provideviable alternatives. Identify risks and anticipated problem to projects, and proposemitigating solutions and actions-. Review and critically assess a range of options for agiven problem, and recommend one acceptable technical solution from a range ofoptions.
