Job Description

Perform geotechnical and open hole (deep water well, recharge/injection wells, deep monitoring wells, soak away and earthing boreholes using DTH and rotary methods, well Installation and well completion, grouting and all associated works) drilling works at onshore and nearshore/marine sites. Assist Geologist in digging trial pits and utility inspection pits, in soil and rock core logging and sampling works and support Laboratory Technician in performing in-situ field tests in boreholes and trial pits. Housekeeping at drilling sites on completion of field works. Attend drilling rig and compressor repairing for any minor breakdowns and equipment routine maintenance works.

  • Drilling open boreholes by DTH or mud drilling.
  • Collection of samples, well casing installation and well completion.
  • Earthing rod installation and well back filling works.
  • Operate equipment such as rotary drilling and/or cable percussion drilling equipment to drill boreholes to the required depth and diameter.
  • Obtain soil and rock core samples.
  • Obtain groundwater samples.
  • Undertake in-situ borehole tests.
  • Maintain daily driller?s logs.
  • Perform in-situ field tests.
  • Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the Company?s established policies and procedures regarding quality, health, safety and environment.
  • Ensure that continual safety vigilance and awareness is reinforced to all subordinates and all work is performed to the highest standards of safety.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in his workplace.
  • Be focused on the needs of the customer / client and strive to exceed their expectations.
