Job Description

About this role:

  • Produce a summary document based on the existing GIS data.
  • Relevant experience in the Roads sector.
  • Knowledge of web-based GIS solutions, primarily ESRI ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server and Web Mapping.
  • Provide support / reports related to GIS to the Section Head and execute tasks as assigned by ROMD in the interest of ROMD GIS Data Set.
  • Gather, verify, input, edit, maintain and update spatial data received from contractors and suppliers.
  • Carry out complex spatial and data analysis on gathered data.
  • Carry out site visit for verification of data and field inspection.
  • Create maps which identify location of network infrastructure and assets.
  • Assist in checking as built drawings, maps, graphs, aerial images, recognize and resolve discrepancies in data and take necessary action to ensure quality of information is accurate and acceptable.
  • Provide GIS data to ROMD to inform future planning.
  • Prepare reports and maintain files, records and drawings.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety Policy and Procedures within the workplace and comply to any new work instructions.
  • Perform other duties/ tasks as required
What you need to bring:
  • Minimum Diploma in Engineering/GIS or higher-level qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Current/valid Qatar Driving License would be an advantage
  • Minimum 8 years of cumulative experience in a relevant field
  • Knowledge of asset hierarchy, asset types and related asset attributes, for drainage assets base desirable
  • In depth knowledge and experience of web-based GIS solutions, primarily ESRI ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS using Microsoft C #.Net, Python or VBA preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages and in particular Microsoft Excel 2010
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English essential and Arabic would be an advantage
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English is essential
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Arabic is preferred
