AUT Inspector

Job Description

About this role:

• Witness and review AUT scans performed by the NDT subcontractor to verify compliance with the approved NDT procedures and ITPs. Review all reports and all radiographs if applicable
• Witness MUT/MT activities as required for repairs and manual welds
• Promote quality awareness, emphasizing excellence, continuous improvement and corrective action to influence the overall success of company business
• Ensure suppliers/contractors use relevant, up to date codes, standards, specifications, and procedures
• Ensure subcontractor inspection complies to the approved Contractor procedures e.g. welding, NDT, visual, dimensional etc.
• Advise the Company NDT Specialist of any non-conformances by the Contractor
• Interface with the discipline engineers, construction engineers, and inspectors in a professional manner
• Support the Company personnel by performing additional tasks as directed and commensurate with his/her skills
• Comply with Company HSSE standards and reinforce the Company HSSE requirements to the colleges / Suppliers / Contractors
• Review original material certificate for compliances to codes and specifications
• Ensure NDE equipment is fully calibrated per specification and has current certification
• Verify rogue and counterfeit items during inspection or surveillance and immediately report to Inspection Coordinator / Quality Manager if any
• Actively participate company Safety meeting and walk-down program
• Provide a weekly report on activities and contractor/subcontractor performance, and daily reports when required and if any anomalies or non-conformances are found.

• Level 2 in AUT and MUT, MT and ToFD desirable. Degree or associate degree in a related discipline e.g., mechanical or materials
• Valid offshore medical and BOSIET
• 10+ years relevant experience with AUT using Pipe Wizard system
• Significant experience in working as client representative on pipe laying projects
• Experience of working with ECA based acceptance criteria
• Experience of AUT of fatigue sensitive welds
• Able to perform, comply, audit and make assessments of Safety Management System (Advance Safety Auditing, Behavior Safety System, JSAs, act) and have competency in safety procedures
• Knowledge of health and safety systems e.g. Job Hazard Analysis, permit to work, safety auditing
• Knowledge and experience in monitoring quality control activities in fabrication shops and yards, onshore and offshore facilities
• Have detailed knowledge of DNV ST-F101
• Able to issue and follow up non-conformity Report
• Able to provide oversight, mentorship and supervision of AUT/NDT inspectors
• Able to understand the commonly used standards, codes, and industry practices within a particular discipline
• Experience of working on lay barges
• Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds
• Able to interface with other disciplines at the various stages
• Candidates shall be required to perform a competence test involving interpretation of AUT scans with defects
• A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and other relevant applications. Excellent communication / written skills and ability to work with different disciplines
• High awareness of safe working practices associated with design, construction and installation of onshore/offshore pipelines and facilities.
