WFP Sudan, one of the largest and complex operations for?WFP globally,?is currently rolling out its five-year?Country Strategic Plan?(2019-2023), which aims to provide emergency assistance through a hybrid approach (Cash, food and vouchers), along with life-changing types of programmes (Nutrition, Resilience and School Feeding).BACKGROUND & JOB PURPOSE:Programme backgroundThe Productive Safety Net Programme in Sudan is implemented in nine states, targeting over 500,000 food insecure famers through Cash Based Transfer (CBT) modalities, and implemented in partnership with local and international non-governmental organizations and the local government of Sudan. The Productive Safety Net and Food for Assets (FFA) Programmes aim at meeting short term hunger gaps while helping households to build resilience against future shocks and stresses through assets creation.Job Purpose:The Programme Policy Officer (Climate Change) will provide programme and technical assistance for the PSN Programme and environment resilience project in the WFP Sudan Country Office, in order to meet food assistance needs.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
