WFP Sudan, one of the largest and complex operations for?WFP globally,?is currently rolling out its five-year?Country Strategic Plan?(2019-2023), which aims to provide emergency assistance through a hybrid approach (Cash, food and vouchers), along with life-changing types of programmes (Nutrition, Resilience and School Feeding).BACKGROUND & JOB PURPOSE:Programme backgroundThe Productive Safety Net Programme in Sudan is implemented in nine states, targeting over 500,000 food insecure famers through Cash Based Transfer (CBT) modalities, and implemented in partnership with local and international non-governmental organizations and the local government of Sudan. The Productive Safety Net and Food for Assets (FFA) Programmes aim at meeting short term hunger gaps while helping households to build resilience against future shocks and stresses through assets creation.Job Purpose:The Programme Policy Officer (Climate Change) will provide programme and technical assistance for the PSN Programme and environment resilience project in the WFP Sudan Country Office, in order to meet food assistance needs.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Contribute towards assets creation support activities through PSN Projects plans and process, ensuring alignment with the Programme policies and WFP guidance.
  • Technical support and assistance to the area and field offices in the development and implementation of various activities under PSN
  • Analyze operational and community issues to support senior colleagues in the development of policies, programmes activities.
  • ?Contribute in the review of Field Level Agreement (FLA) document and budget process and collaboration with relative units as well as support staff in the interpretation of FLAs as necessary
  • ?Liaise with internal counterparts to ensure effective collaboration, monitoring and evaluation of ongoing projects and support the area offices with gathering and reviewing of Cooperating Partners monthly and quarterly reports in the provided formats ensuring data consistency?
  • Support the area offices with the analyze and process of the CPs cash requests and timely payments
  • Prepare regular updates on food and cash transfers status for projects as required and within the specific area of responsibility and also prepare a range of reports and data analysis
  • Support with organizing events such as training etc under the PSN programme and assist with stakeholder?s collaboration
  • Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of?operational queries and problems within specific technical area of responsibility
  • Other related duties as required
