The Chief Animal Production Officer oversees and facilitates the design and evolution of livestock sector development strategies; of policies, methodologies and field projects in animal production and health; and of livestock sector analysis. S/he also is responsible to manage and promote exchange of sector-relevant knowledge.- Provide leadership and vision for the development and implementation of the companys livestock programme, through effective coordination of the contributions of relevant sectors across Zadna.- Lead the Division, providing direction, supervision and guidance to staff, maintaining a motivated workforce and fostering a work environment conducive to efficient and effective results-based teamwork, promoting communication within and across teams, and implementing appropriate technical and administrative support measures in line with results-based management principles and effective approaches for performance management, ensuring the development of required knowledge and skills.- Identify and coordinate strategic engagement opportunities on livestock sector analysis and development with relevant private sector and civil society organizations.- Leverage and promote innovation, science and technology in the livestock sector, in cooperation with public, private, academia and civil society.- Represent the company at high-level meetings and other relevant events dealing with livestock sector related issues; management.- Advocate the company s policy position with respect to the areas under his/her mandate and communicate its messages.- Oversee and deal with risk management in the Division, ensuring that any significant control weaknesses are addressed or escalated.
