If yes, this opportunity is for you.?At WFP, we are looking for a?Logistics Associate (GIS)?for our offices in?Khartoum?Sudan?to be hired on a?Service Contract?at the?SC6?level.ABOUT WFPThe United Nations World Food Programme is the worlds largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide.?The mission of WFP is to help the world?achieve Zero Hunger?in our lifetimes.?Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.?WFP Sudan has the potential to reach millions of food insecure people across Sudan ? with a total of?7.8 million people assisted in 2020, WFP Sudan, one of the largest and complex operations for?WFP globally,?is currently rolling out its five-year?Country Strategic Plan?(2019-2023), which aims to provide emergency assistance through a hybrid approach (Cash, food and vouchers), along with life-changing types of programmes (Nutrition, Resilience and School Feeding).JOB PURPOSETo support the WFP Sudan operations in Food security geographical analysis requiring the integration of diverse data sources and large quantities of information.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Closely work with senior staff to meet their Geographic Information System (GIS) needs for mapping & analysis, requirements, and required outputs.
  2. Timely preparation, maintenance and provision of geographic information and maps in support of the mission?s operations using GIS software and related equipment.
  3. Collect, process, and evaluate geographic data including vector, raster, and thematic data; Compile large-scale Logistic maps and small-scale briefing/report maps.
  4. Update GIS and other information systems and databases, applying additional knowledge of spatial feature representations.
  5. Create maps, infographic, and graphs, using GIS software and related equipment.
  6. Report to direct supervisor on implementation status, including the progress, Support the development of graphics and layout for regular visibility material for partners and other consumers.
  7. Weekly Update Physical access constraint map for Logistic Cluster and especially during rainy season.
  8. Generate General Logistics Planning Map (GLPM), for whole Sudan and for area offices.
  9. Produce Road assessment Maps.
  10. Create maps showing locations of WFP warehouses in Sudan plus capacities.
  11. Support Logistic in Area offices, regarding maps and spatial information
  12. Responsible for managing digital mapping data and performing analysis to answer GIS questions.
  13. Timely analysis of data to process into visual maps, metrics and readable reports.
  14. Establishing and monitoring road transport routes.
  15. Regular update of visibility material (such as maps) for partners.
  16. Updating patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data
