AX Agency is a fast-growing digital agency based in Dubai, delivering high-end websites, CRM systems, digital platforms and marketing solutions for clients across the UAE, UK and internationally.We're looking for an experienced Web Developer to join our in-house team. This is not a role for someone who simply installs themes or relies on AI website builders. We're looking for a genuine developer who understands how websites are built from the ground up and takes pride in writing clean, scalable code.What You'll Be DoingDesigning and developing bespoke websites for clients.Building and maintaining WordPress websites, including custom themes and plugins where required.Developing CRM systems, client portals and custom web applications.Maintaining and improving AX Agency's own internal websites and platforms.Working closely with our design and marketing teams to bring projects to life.Optimising websites for speed, SEO and security.Troubleshooting, debugging and improving existing projects.Assisting with server provisioning, migrations, hosting environments and deployments.Essential SkillsStrong HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.PHP and WordPress development.Experience building custom WordPress themes and plugins.MySQL/database experience.Responsive web development.Git version control.Strong understanding of website performance and security.Ability to build websites without relying on page builders or pre-built templates.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Desirable SkillsLinux server administration.VPS and cloud server provisioning.Apache/Nginx configuration.DNS management and SSL certificates.Docker experience.Laravel or other PHP frameworks.React, Vue or modern JavaScript frameworks.API integrations.Experience with AWS, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Vultr or similar hosting providers.WHM/cPanel/Plesk administration.Who We're Looking ForYou'll be someone who enjoys building websites properly?not just assembling templates.You should:Be passionate about development.Write clean, maintainable code.Understand how hosting and servers work.Be comfortable taking ownership of projects from start to finish.Keep up with modern development practices.Be able to communicate well with both technical and non-technical clients.What We're Not Looking ForThis role is not suitable for applicants who:Primarily use AI to generate code without understanding it.Only build websites using Elementor, Divi or similar page builders.Depend on pre-made themes for every project.Have limited knowledge of how websites function behind the scenes.We're looking for developers who genuinely understand the technologies they're working with and can build reliable, scalable solutions.What We OfferCompetitive salary (based on experience).Modern Dubai office.Opportunity to work with UK and international clients.Diverse projects across multiple industries.Creative and supportive team environment.Career progression within a growing agency.How to ApplyPlease send:Your CVPortfolio (live websites you've personally built)GitHub (if available)A short introduction explaining why you'd be a great fitWhen applying, please include examples of projects where you wrote the majority of the code yourself, rather than assembling existing templates or page builders.
