Roles & ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking Sri Lankan and Philippine nationality skilled and hands-on Working Team Leader cum Carpenter with proven experience in the exhibition and events industry.This dual-role position combines expert technical carpentry skills with leadership and on-site coordination responsibilities.You will be responsible for leading a team in the fabrication, assembly, and on-site of custom-built, assembly, installation of Exhibition stands and temporary custom structures, props, and installations such as MDF walls, Structure, backdrops, related setups, platforms, and props for various exhibitions and events such as concerts, trade shows, festivals, and other special occasions, ensuring quality, safety, and timely execution.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and lead a team of carpenters on workshop and on-site assignments.Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD plans, and build specifications accurately.Recommend and select suitable materials (wood, laminates, MDF, acrylics, metals, fabrics, etc.) based on project needs, durability, weight, and cost.Oversee on-site stand installation and dismantling within project timelines.Coordinate with project managers, designers, and other trades (electrical, graphics, etc.) to ensure smooth execution.Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control procedures.Monitor materials usage, reduce waste, and report inventory needs.Solve on-site problems with quick, practical solutions.Mentor and train junior carpenters and ensure adherence to best practices at the worksite.Ensure proper management and maintenance of the workshop space and its contents including machinery, tools, materials and plantDesired Candidate ProfileCore Personal Traits:Highly adaptable with a flexible, can-do attitude.Willingness to work extended overtime hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays, as per project requirements.Strong commitment to teamwork, reliability, and accountability.Physically fit and capable of handling hands-on carpentry and demanding on-site conditions.Willing to stay in company-provided shared accommodation.Minimum fixed working hours: 11 hours per day. Overtime is paid for additional hours on normal workdays of the week, and on weekends, and public holidays.Preferred Qualifications:ITI diploma or Vocational training in Carpentry or Woodworking.Mandatory Prior experience in the events, exhibitions, or fit-out industry.Fluent communication skills in English (read, write, and speak).
