Roles & ResponsibilitiesIndex Law is building a new kind of legal company that combines frontier AI, exceptional lawyers, and a world-class client experience.Rather than selling software to law firms, we work directly with individuals and businesses to help them understand their legal position, determine the right strategy, and have their matters handled by the right legal professionals.We are looking for an ambitious, commercially minded lawyer or legal professional to join us as a Lawyer-in-Residence. This is not a traditional associate role. You will work across client relationships, legal operations, our lawyer network, and the development of our AI-powered legal products.Roles & ResponsibilitiesSpeaking with prospective clients to understand their legal and commercial needsTurning enquiries into clearly scoped matters, timelines, and deliverablesExplaining Index Law?s recommendations, pricing, and process to clientsCoordinating matters between clients, lawyers, specialists, and the internal teamMonitoring deadlines, quality, responsiveness, and client satisfactionIdentifying and assessing lawyers, barristers, and law firms for the Index networkSupporting business development and developing longer-term client relationshipsReviewing AI-generated legal analysis, documents, and recommendationsProviding structured feedback to the product and engineering teamsHelping create reusable legal workflows, templates, and quality control processesDesired Candidate ProfileLaw degree, legal training, or meaningful experience in legal services (1?5 years of experience)Strong legal reasoning and commercial judgementExcellent written and verbal communicationConfidence speaking with clients and explaining complex issues clearlyStrong organization, ownership, and attention to detailAbility to manage several matters and stakeholders at the same timeAbility to turn unclear client requests into structured scopes and next stepsInterest in AI, legal technology, and improving how legal services are deliveredComfortable working across legal, commercial, operational, and product responsibilitiesAbility to work independently without waiting for detailed instructionsMust be residing in or willing to relocate to the UAE (preferably Dubai)
