Job Title: Geotechnical Design EngineerExperience: 5 to 15 yearsCompany: APEC IndustriesDivision: Geotechnical Design DepartmentLocation: UAEQualification: Engineering degree (Master's or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus)Skills: Experience with geotechnical and coastal engineering design softwares (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, SLOPE/W, Settle3Detc) for infrastructure projectsScope of Work:The Geotechnical Design Engineer at APEC Industries will work on various civil and geotechnical projects, providing expertise in foundation design, earthworks, and subsurface analysis for infrastructure development.Key responsibilities include understanding the company?s business goals and contributing to the improvement of technical capabilities within the team. This includes developing and enhancing geo-synthetic and composite systems by discovering new materials, establishing specifications, and identifying potential applications in projects.Research and evaluation of major geo-synthetic and composite materials produced by international manufacturers will be required. The engineer will assess their technical specifications and determine their suitability for use in different construction projects. Design calculations will need to be produced to support the use of these materials.Site investigations will be carried out to assess subsurface conditions, analyze soil, rock, and groundwater properties, and evaluate the stability of natural slopes and man-made soil deposits. Based on these findings, the engineer will design appropriate foundations and earthworks for buildings, roads, and other infrastructure.
