About the Role:We are seeking a seasoned Database Administrator (DBA) with over 5 years of experience to design, deploy, and maintain high-availability relational and NoSQL database environments. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security across multiple platforms and cloud services, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support critical business applications.Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain database architectures for PostgreSQL, MySQL, Percona, MariaDB, MongoDB, and ElasticsearchManage cloud database services including AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, AWS DynamoDB, and Azure SQLPerform routine maintenance tasks such as patching, upgrades, backups, and restoresMonitor database performance and health using Datadog, New Relic, and Prometheus, and implement tuning and optimization strategiesDevelop and maintain database automation scripts and tools using Python and BashImplement and enforce database security best practices, access controls, and encryptionConduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planningTroubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, incidents, and outagesCollaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as codeDocument database procedures, configurations, and standardsSkillsRequired Qualifications:5+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA supporting PostgreSQL, MySQL, Percona, and MariaDBStrong expertise in MongoDB and Elasticsearch administrationProven experience managing AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, AWS DynamoDB, and Azure SQL environmentsAdvanced proficiency in SQL and relational database designExperience writing automation scripts in Python and BashFamiliarity with monitoring and observability tools: Datadog, New Relic, and PrometheusExperience with caching technologies: Redis and MemcachedSolid understanding of backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategiesStrong troubleshooting and performance tuning skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesPreferred Qualifications:Certifications such as AWS Certified Database Specialty, Azure Database Administrator Associate, or equivalentExperience with containerized database deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR)Experience with high-traffic, large-scale database environmentsBackground in DevOps practices and CI/CD integrationExperience with additional scripting languages or automation frameworksStrong analytical and documentation skills
