Senior Security Engineer

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security threats.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security measures are integrated into all aspects of the organizations operations.
• Design, configure, and manage security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Monitor and analyze security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents.
• Perform regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Lead incident response activities, including detection, investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans and playbooks.
• Conduct post-incident analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for employees.
• Promote a culture of security awareness across the organization.
• Stay current with emerging security trends, threats, and technologies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.
• Conduct third-party security assessments and manage vendor security relationships.
• Prepare and present security reports to senior management.

• Extensive experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, endpoint protection, and encryption.
• Strong knowledge of network security, application security, and cloud security principles.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proven ability to lead security projects from inception to completion.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience in mentoring and guiding junior security team members.
• Bachelors degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Relevant security certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or OSCP.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior security engineering role.
• In-depth knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
