HSE Inspector

Job Description

We are looking for HSE Inspector for UAE.JOB PURPOSE:To prevent accidents and work-related illnesses at project site by detecting and correcting safety risks and hazards and monitoring the safety performance of all construction operations at assigned site with respect to the safety precautions. Ensure that employees comply with health and safety standards, machinery is always fitted with essential safety guards, and proper HSE trainings have been administered in order to complete the project successfully. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Description :Assist I/C HSE in Planning and Development:? Assist in planning and developing the project safety plans and procedures, contribute to the HSE strategy and monitor HSE program in order to make proper implementation of HSE polices for ensuring a risk free environmentContinuous Improvements in Industrial Protection & Prevention and Control System Program:? Inspect, regulate, develop, assess and continuously improve the comprehensive industrial protection & prevention and control system program involving the most complex and hazardous situations in an intensive, dynamically industrial growth environment to meet the safety standards HSE Inspections and Supportive Actions:? Conduct HSE inspections, assist in producing development schedule for site inspections, and maintain formal documentation in order to support the inspectionsEnsuring the Implementation of HSE Legal Standards? Ensure works are performed in accordance with established safety and loss control programs, OSHA, EPA and government codes and regulations to avoid any legal issues which may harm the credibility of the companyHSE Documentation and Maintenance:? Ensure all MSDS documents are prepared, checked, monitored and distributed as appropriate in order to facilitate the staffMonitoring the Investigations:? Identify safety, fire and security violations and initiate corrective / preventive actions to conduct, monitor and analyze accident investigations.Monitor Safety Practices/ Preventive Measures:? Monitor compliance of safety practices and preventive measures to eliminate unsafe actsCoordination with the Site Personnel:? Coordinate with site staff, prepare loss control reports, maintain job site safety records, conduct meetings with site personnel to discuss problems in order to maximize the communication for clear understanding of the issues Managing People:? Ensure the effective achievement HSE objectives through the strong leadership by ? setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal ? in order to maximize subordinate and the performance of the sectionPolicies & Procedures:? Recommend improvements to HSE policy and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of HSE activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality service to clients and employeesTaking the Ownership of Company QHSE Policy:? Accountable to create a safe working environment, manage risks, reduce exposure to hazardous liability and ensure implementation of QHSE policy? Comply with all QA/QC standards (DIMS documents) as applicable to the company systems, policies, procedures, and documents in order to deliver the expected quality of work.Key performance indicators :-? Effectiveness of HSE procedures and programs developed ? Degree of Improvement in programs? HSE inspections conducted as per plan? Completeness of required documentation ? Compliance of work with legal standards? Degree to which records are updated? Corrective actions taken against violations? Documentation of Lessons Learnt ? Compliance with safety standards? Preventive measures taken where required? Timeliness of reports? preparation? Identification of HSE issues at site ? Individual objectives, training and development plan in place for all direct reports within the timescales defined by the corporate Performance Management process? Frequency of feedback & appraisal meetings? Compliance with procedural and legislative requirements? Effective communication of policies and procedures? Adherence to HSE standards ? Adherence to DIMS documentsJOB CONTEXT:? The efficiency of this position is critical for ensuring protection of company?s credibility with respect to HSE policies? Having large on-going construction activities, it is critical to ensure the compliance with HSE standards by all personnel involved at site? Has an important role in reviewing and advising on the sub-contractors issues in terms of HSE compliance, and participating in projects Kick-Off meetings for HSE related issues COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:Internal:? Meetings with departmental staff and In-Charge Site HSE for work related issues? Active participation with other departments with regards to HSE related issues? Coordination of Pre-Planned HSE InspectionExternal:? Visits to site engineers on the siteFRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES, & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:? Works under general direction of the I/C HSE (Site) and Site Manager? Decisions with respect to HSE activities are taken with the consent of I/C HSE (Site) ? Identifies the safety violations and define corrective/preventive actions
