Job Purpose: ? The Economist is responsible for managing the development and implementation of sector charge, customer tariff and subsidy reform strategies ? In addition, this role is responsible for providing economic input/ advice into incentive frameworks, capacity tendering and pricing, establishing principles for asset valuation of mega developments in the sector, pricing mechanisms, econometric analysis and modelling.Requirements:? Bachelor's Degree in Economics or relevant discipline? Master?s Degree in Economics is preferred? Minimum of 4 years of experience, in a relevant field e.g tariff structure for the energy sector (setting price control is a plus)? Experience in energy sector regulation, including preparation of regulatory submissions, regulatory consultations and regulatory responsesKnowledge:? Comprehensive knowledge of pricing and tariffs in the energy sector, including the price control and tariffs structures and models, pricing models, data analytics and tools used for setting pricing? Knowledge of laws and regulations, regionally and globally, in regards to electricity activities? Good understanding of the energy sector, in Abu Dhabi, regionally and globally ? Good understanding of the strategic direction of the Abu Dhabi energy sector, the objectives for the sector and requirements of key stakeholders? Thorough understanding of the strategic direction and developments within the energy sector regionally and globally ? Attributes:? Ability to interpret engineering data and reports? Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships? Ability to drive and adapt to change in a dynamic environment? Ability to work with key stakeholders, the DoE management, external parties, and advisors?
