Job Description

The Policy Specialist on Inclusive Growth will work closely with the Crisis Bureau, the SDG Integration team, and the Regional hubs, and focus on inclusive sustainable growth, multidimensional poverty and inequality, social protection, jobs and livelihoods, the future of work, informal economy, women?s economic empowerment and economic transformation. S/he will provide substantive advice and technical expertise, advocacy, relationship building and knowledge in inclusive growth and sustainable development within the BPPS and UNDP as a whole and will work with teams across UNDP?s Regional Hubs, policy centers and Global Policy Network, and relevant partners. S/he will manage the development of tools and methods to support countries achieve priorities for inclusive growth, poverty eradication and reduction of inequality in the most effective means possible. Duties and Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator, the Technical Programme Support Specialist will have the overall responsibility for managing capacity building and technical support to country and multi-country programmes with a particular focus on ensuring the adoption of cross-cutting approaches. He/she will be responsible for quality assuring processes to validate outputs related to knowledge production and capacity building. He/she will be responsible for reporting to the coordinator on significant technical and capacity-building gaps at programme level presenting targeted solutions. Duties and Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Senior Strategic Adviser & Team Leader, the Policy & Research Specialist will contribute to the strategic and economic analysis of trends and policies by contributing data, analysis, reports, and insights to support forward looking strategies and directions related to the RBAS New York. The Policy & Research Specialist will be responsible for researching, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data related to policy options, including as related to regional initiatives, country-level initiatives when requested. The Policy & Research Specialist will also support research, review, and outreach on key regional knowledge production such as the Arab Human Development Report. The Policy & Research Specialist will collaborate with all RBAS New York Teams, and with the Amman Regional Hub, in order to obtain additional insights and information that impact the strategic and economic advice produced by the Strategy & Analysis Team. Duties and Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities Under the overall supervision of the Senior Health Procurement and Supply Chain Management Advisor, the Procurement and Supply Chain Management Specialist (PSM Specialist) shall play a key role in the thematic area of health products Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSM) in providing advisory support services to UNDP Country Offices (COs) implementing health and development programmes throughout the grant life cycle. The PSM Specialist promotes a collaborative, client-oriented approach consistent with UNDP rules and regulations, contributing to the country team approach and support to the integration of capacity building activities. The PSM Specialist will work in close coordination with COs, Regional Bureaus (including Hubs), Bureau of Management Services, Legal Office, Office of Audit and Investigations, Global Fund, GF/HIST and other health stakeholders (e.g., GAVI, GDF, WHO, UNICEF, WFP). S/He will be responsible for the management and operation of the these Initiatives including partnership development, delivery of results; human resources management and procurement, work planning, and fund and budget management; for managing support to the governance of the Initiatives; engaging stakeholders and facilitating linkages between existing members and stakeholders; resource mobilization, including mobilizing inclusive business commitments from private sector companies.
