Mental health among Adult, Adolescent and Children - ( 2306067 )Primary Location: Tunisia-TunisPurpose of consultancyThe purpose of this international consultancy is to develop the multisectoral national strategy for mental health among adolescents and children, as well as the operating plan for Tunisian multisectoral national strategy to promote mental health among adults under WHO support for national mental health efforts in Tunisia.BackgroundGlobal, regional, and national economic challenges in addition to COVID-19 pandemic impacted the mental health and well-being of people around the world while also raising concerns of increased suicidal behavior. In addition, access to mental health services has been severely impeded. WHO estimates the rise in both anxiety and depressive disorders at more than 25% during the first year of the pandemic.The promotion of mental health in Tunisia is a public health priority. In 2013, a mental health promotion strategy was developed based on a broad discussion of all the actors involved, both in health and in other sectors. In 2015, a technical committee for the promotion of mental health and a technical committee for the fight against suicide were created at the level of the Ministry of Health with the aim of implementing mental health promotion activities at the national level. Although the directions and priorities have been defined and initiated by these committees, the operationalization of this strategy encounters difficulties related to a lack of human resources and the need to redefine the roles of each stakeholder.The promotion of mental health in Tunisia is a public health priority. The Ministry of Health has launched working groups to 1) develop an action plan for the implementation of the multisectoral national strategy for the promotion of mental health among adults and 2) develop a national multisectoral strategy for the promotion of mental health in children and adolescents.The purpose of this international consultancy is to develop the multisectoral national strategy for mental health among adolescents and children, as well as to develop the operating plan for Tunisian multisectoral national strategy to promote mental health among adults under WHO support for national mental health efforts in Tunisia.DeliverablesOutput 1 : Development of a multisectoral national strategy for mental health among adolescents and children.
