Job Description

Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the WorldAircraft Maintainer - AvionicsProvide Avionics maintenance support for T-6C aircraft.Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipment. Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of electrical/avionics systems
  • Possess a high degree of expertise of aircraft electrical/avionics systems.
  • Performs the inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair, modification and rewiring as required of complex avionics/electrical systems and subsystems discrepancies and modifications.
  • Able to apply advanced technical knowledge to solve usually complex problems and identify failed components.
  • Prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects and is required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.
  • Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by Mechanics.
  • Incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Inspects and operates powered and nonpowered aerospace ground equipment.
  • Reviews maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems, and historical reports to ensure complete documentation.
  • Maintain aircraft support equipment and an orderly workspace.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P).
  • Minimum of four (4) years working knowledge of Organizational aircraft avionics maintenance on one or more of the T-6 Texan or similar Fixed-Wing aircraft.
  • Must be able to read and interpret aircraft wiring diagrams, schematics, manufacturer?s publications, maintenance manuals, service bulletins and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics component and system troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
  • Must have a broad working knowledge of aircraft maintenance, inspection techniques, FAA regulations, and Air Force technical publications.
  • Must have a working knowledge of aircraft safety requirements and know how to operate portable firefighting equipment.
  • Must be familiar with Maintenance Information System (MIS) to retrieve and input information.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
