Qaiwan Group require a ?Head of Process Engineering? for our 40,000 BPD Hydro skimming refinery in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan (north of Iraq).The position requires the following qualifications and experience:-Bachelor or Master?s degree in Chemical Engineering-Minimum 15 years? experience in the oil refineries-Minimum 10 years in process engineering department and extensive experience in the Crude Distillation, Hydrotreating, Catalytic Reforming, Light Naphtha Isomerization, Kerosene MEROX, Steam generation and cooling water systems-Fluent oral/written English communication skillsJob Description:? Participating & coordinating on making the business plan for the refinery ? Lead support to process engineering and technical support to operation ? Lead performance evaluation of process units and catalysts? Conduct feasibility and engineering study, catalyst/adsorbent selection? Providing support during shut-down, turnaround and catalyst regeneration/change out ? Analyze refinery indices and recommend improvements? Optimize the utilization of energy consumption within the refinery and make recommendations on energy savings with acceptable safety parameters.? Investigate bottlenecks within the plant and provide alternative solutions to management in order to overcome difficulties.? Ensures that any plant change or modification is carried out according to applicable safety standards.? Supervise the activities of providing engineering support to the Plant.? Co-ordinate environmental monitoring of the plant to meet established environmental standards and report on a regular basis to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs.? Participate in inspection, safety and integrity of the plant including reviewing engineering designs from a safety point of view.? Participate in investigating safety incidents and reviewing proposed modifications to safety procedures.? Performs other similar or related duties such as liaising on a periodic basis with the QHSE.? Review all CAPEX proposals to confirm they comply with company guidelines, providing technical support during development of FEED, Detail Design, Construction and Commissioning? Take the role of Advisor in the Emergency Response Plan to advise Supreme Incident Commander on various technical, process & marketing issues? Determination of short term work methods from a variety of existing methods in accordance with established policies and professional standards.? Playing an important role for recommendations and advising changes in the process which improves economy and profitability of the refinery.? Lead various improvement projects and profitability improvement programs.? Mentoring young and inexperienced process engineers
