The Transportation Manager is responsible for the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation matters within the company in all covered geographies. He is in charge of other transport staff members in addition to taking charge of every transportation asset and process.?
He is responsible for overseeing and leading all aspects of transportation operation staff including driver supervision, national and local lawful operation compliance, equipment maintenance, and operational safety and compliance with the standard operating procedures of the company.
Job Responsibilities:
Analyze expenditures and other financial information to develop plans, policies, or budgets for increasing profits and improving services.
Responsible for getting deliveries to the right locations at the right time.
Comply with operations policies and standards, including determining safety procedures for the handling of goods.
Responsible for all of the dispatching, routing, and tracking of delivery vehicles.
Ensuring company compliance with all transport policies, legislation, and procedures.
Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints with authorization level (cost, scope, assets involved, territory covered, etc?) above the Transportation Supervisor role.
Negotiate and authorize contracts with equipment and materials suppliers, and monitor contract fulfillment, in coordination with central or group procurement manager.
Involved in strategic development and strategy making for your assets
Making sure that all transport fleet vehicles are properly maintained and serviced.
Identifying operational issues, potential problems, and opportunities, and providing plans to implement solutions.
Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.
Regularly liaising with the Regional Warehouse Managers to ensure a smooth running of both departments.
Periodical site visits to the regional offices and/or remote sites to follow up on the implementation of set work processes and policies and taking immediate appropriate action to fix any deficiencies.
Maintain a dashboard of the fleet, assets, driver performance, expenses, budgets, and other transportation-related KPIs.
