We are actively seeking a Splunk Engineer to help lead the implementation of Splunk and the Splunk Enterprise Security module in a large, complex MSSP environment. The ideal candidate will be someone who is looking for continual growth, can think strategically but operate tactically, and most importantly, wants to make a positive difference to the people around them.1. Designs, deploys, operates, and maintains Splunk and Splunk Enterprise Security systems for new or existing computer systems in support of large Federal IT programs including cloud computing.2. Day-to-day maintenance and operations of Splunk and the development of user access (e. g. rules, reports, and configuration)3. Provide industry-standard expertise in the deployment, configuration, and operations of Splunk and Splunk Enterprise Security. Having an MSSP experience with such environments will be an added value4. Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.5. Develops customized dashboards for operations, security and management teams Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients.6. Plans and directs upgrades of systems, designs systems enhancements, and monitors capacity to maintain operational capacity, following change management processes.7. Develops documentation on new or existing systems.8. Develops and directs tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.9. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.10. Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.11. Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.12. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers and may have supervisory responsibilities.13. Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.Education1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent work experience.2. Training and Certification in Splunk technologiesQualifications1. 5 or more years of related information Security experience.2. 3+ Demonstrated experience in Splunk engineering, deployment and administration, including Splunk Enterprise Security.3. Practical experience in infrastructure administration a plus (Linux, networking, Windows, firewalls)4. Experience with practical implementations of DevOps tools and processes (i. e. JIRA, Service now).5. Ability to influence others using reasoning, persuasion, and negotiation; excellent interpersonal skills.6. Strategic, but also pragmatic, detail-oriented and willing to be hands-on.7. Strong ability to learn new technologies in a short time.8. Must possess well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
