Job Description

An international construction company is currently looking for a Senior Planner/Planning Manager (Saudi national) to be based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Review the contract documents for each Construction Package and advise the Engineering/Construction Manager of any deficiency.
  • Review Contractors proposed site organization Planners CVs and report to the Engineering/Construction Manager.
  • Review and approve/comment on the Design schedules as submitted by the Contractor and ensure the Design Schedule is in compliance with the overall project schedule.
  • Review and approve/comment on the procurement schedules as submitted by the Contractor and ensure the procurement schedules are in compliance and coordinated with current construction schedules.
  • Review and continuously monitor against approved schedules the Contractors major construction progress and ensure equipment and manpower are adequate or in case of any shortage report to Engineering/Construction Manager.
  • Review in detail the recovery schedules as submitted by the Contractors and ensure manpower and site supervision staffs are increased properly.
  • Regular visits to project sites to validate whether the progress of work on site is in compliance with approved schedules major milestones have been met and report deficiencies to Construction Manager.
  • Review all daily weekly and monthly reports as submitted by Contractor and report to Construction Manager any deficiency or non-compliance.
  • Review any claim involving time impact as submitted by the Contractor and report his assessment to Construction Manager.
  • Review field design changes and Trend Notices and assess time impact if any.
  • Advise the Construction Manager of any foreseen slippage of progress and corrective actions to be taken.
  • Attend weekly progress meeting and monthly Executive meetings and participate in preparing the agenda.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you need to meet the following criteria:
  • demonstrate 15 years experience with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • work within and have previously worked on buildings projects
  • have a membership/professional accreditation,
  • have the ability to use computers and specific job-related technology efficiently, with a range of skills
  • have an excellent command of English as a minimum, and of course, additional languages are beneficial
  • Extensive knowledge of Primavera P3 or P6 is required
