  • To lead and oversee the Environmental Site Compliance function of GES at Amaala project, covering for both construction and operation stages.
  • To verify and ensure alignment of all Red Sea Globals (RSG) project approved compliance and management systems to the Kingdoms environmental legislation, RSGs policies and procedures and best international industry practices.
Job ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Compliance
  • Lead and Manage the Environmental Site Compliance function and ensure all project sites at Amaala are fully compliant with the Kingdoms regulations and RSG environmental standards.
  • Manages RSG corporate Environmental Compliance programs, including field execution of standard compliance protocols by contractors across Amaala delivery teams.
  • Ensure alignment between the group compliance function project delivery and construction to RSG Environmental and Social Management Systems.
  • Oversee the teams environmental compliance activities for both construction and operational assets (such as site visits, audits, root cause analysis, corrective action and close out reporting, and follow up audit scheduling and logistics, etc.) as relevant to the Group Environmental Compliance Program requirements.
  • Manage the Environmental Compliance leads interface with the Project Delivery and construction and operation teams and ensure specific environmental protection requirements for construction and operation are implemented and provide guidance for their implementation processes and procedures.
  • Guide and support the Environmental Compliance Leads in managing the Environmental Compliance team in delivery of outcomes-based information in accordance with the Group Environmental Compliance Program.
  • Oversee the development and coordination of the registers and documents of compliance requirements applicable to RSGs activities. (Including, as example, review and approval of, Contractor documents such as, Construction Environment & Sustainability Management Plans and /or related management plans Method Statements Survey and monitoring reports Contractor & supervisory consultant checklists and reports, and other associated reports and documents)
  • Oversee the reporting required from the Environmental Compliance function at Amaala, covering both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managing the environmental risk register and implement the required mitigation measures in connection with the Environmental Compliance function at Amaala project.
  • Update and maintain RSG policies, procedures, guidelines, manuals in relation to the Environmental Compliance function and manage their integration with the GES EMS frequently and as required.
  • Provide input into coordination aspects of RSG environmental and sustainability management programs including review of consultant and contractor work, as required.
  • Develop and execute the Environmental Compliance Strategy for the Amaala project during construction and operation, including training, automation, monitoring, talent development, risk management, stakeholders management, etc.
  • Ensure that all the Proactive Adaptive Management Self Reporting requirements and environmental records are maintained in a quality controlled and quality assured manner.
Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports
  • Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions are implemented throughout the project delivery stage gates to ensure that construction/operation is undertaken in an environmentally controlled and consistent manner in line with GES Environmental and Social Management System.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely functional reports in line with the corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.
Safety, Quality & Environment
  • Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of departments systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Job Requirements - Qualification and Experience:
  • Masters degree or professional equivalent in an applicable discipline (Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biological Science, Marine Science, Environmental Management, etc.)
  • Minimum experience of 20 years in an Environmental based role with career progression to a management level with more than 10 years of experience in a managerial position.
