Job Description

SummaryResponsible for ensuring that all Hospital scientific research and clinical trials on human subjects / laboratory animals are in compliance with the national and international ethical and safety standards and regulations.Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Supervises the process of systematic and random surveys of research activities at the Hospital with regards to the compliance in scientific ethical standards, International Conference on Hamonization (ICH) Harmonized Tripartite Guidelines for good clinical practice and the Hospital research policies, standards on the use of animals in research and biosafety.
  2. Reports survey findings to the appropriate body or committee.
  3. Provides assurance to and obtains approval of national and international research regulatory bodies, other research institutions and research funding agencies regarding the Hospital compliance.
  4. Provides information resource on research regulations to investigators, the public and research subjects.
  5. Develops and implements training and educational programs for research community.
  6. Educates research participants regarding risk, benefits and confidentiality through teaching materials and personal sessions.
  7. Recommends policies and/or amendments to ensure compliance of research activities.
  8. Prepares and presents periodic statistical reports of the section to appropriate committees / authorities.
  9. Participates in department/unit specific and Hospital wide quality improvement plan.
  10. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
  11. Participates in self and others education, training and development, as applicable.
EducationPh.D. or Masters Degree in Science, Research, Clinical field or any related field is required. Experience RequiredSeven (7) years of related experience with PhD or ten (10) years with Masters Degree is required. Other Requirements(Certificates)
  • Clinical Research Professional Certification (CCRP) is preferred.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of applicable research and clinical regulatory standards and regulations.
  • Preferably with work experience in KFSH&RC and previous participation in clinical research studies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral/written (Arabic & English) communication and teamwork skills are required.
