SummaryOperations of Clinical Coding including staffing and scheduling, personnel management, maintaining productivity and work quality, identifying problem areas, ensuring daily workflow proceeds on schedule, implementing departmental policies and procedures.Essential Responsibilities and Duties1. Demonstrates detailed knowledge and expertise in Australian Coding Standards for International Classification of Disease (ICD)-10-AM & ACHI, and local authority classifications and billing systems.2. Assures correct coding of inpatient and outpatient encounters with enough specificity, and that the coding clearly reflects the patients condition, and procedures done for the patient.3. Maintains up to date, departmental standards of quality, consistent with departmental policies/procedures as necessary.4. Monitors the Clinical Coding process and support the Hospitals revenue cycle, assures that billing deadlines are met.5. Tracks and oversees the coding query process to physicians for appropriateness, accuracy and timely reply. Reviews Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) for accuracy and consolidate with (ICD) findings.6. Identify clinical documentation gaps prepares educational martials for physician, and collaborates with Clinical Documentation team to bridge clinical documentation gaps.7. Performs quality audit and develops systems which meet various standards as well as Hospitals policies and procedure.EducationMasters, Bachelors or Associate Degree/Diploma in Health Information Management, Hospital Administration, Health Allied filed, or other related discipline is required.Experience RequiredGrade 11:Five (5) years of related experience with Masters, or seven (7) years with Bachelors Degree, or nine (9) years of related experience with Associate Degree/Diploma including two (2) years in a senior/ supervisory capacity position is required.Grade 12:Seven (7) years of related experience with Masters, or nine (9) years with Bachelors Degree, or eleven (11) years of related experience with Associate Degree/Diploma including four (4) years of (Grade 11) experience is required.Other Requirements(Certificates)Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) is Preferred.Health Information Management Association Australia (HIMAA) is Preferred.Advanced level Clinical Coder Certification (CCC) is required.Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
