SummaryDevelops and Coordinates an ongoing Quality program in accordance with the Hospital, National and International Standards.Essential Responsibilities and Duties1. Establishes a Quality Improvement Program, Quality Assurance Criteria and Quality Control Requirements in congruence with KFSH&RC, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and international standards. Modifies these as required by changing circumstances or as directed by accrediting agencies or legal authorities.2. Coordinates and facilitates laboratory accreditation activities with applicable accreditation agencies.3. Collaborates with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (DPLM) Administration to establish performance improvement priorities.4. Participates as a standing member on the Laboratory Quality Improvement Committee to identify opportunities for improvement and assist in the development of Performance Improvement Projects. Facilitates departmental Performance Improvement teams and provides training in performance improvement tools when indicated.5. Develops reviews, revises and distributes internal Laboratory Operating Policies, Procedures, MCA Internal Policies, Procedures, in accordance with KFSH&RC Policies, and Procedures, national and international standards and accrediting agency requirements.6. Reviews immediate actions taken and written responses to incident reports. Ensures that incidents/accidents involving illnesses, hazardous substances, property damage and occupational injuries have been appropriately investigated. Evaluates incident reports and recommends corrective action to avoid recurrence.7. Liaises with other KFSH&RC Departments and the Medical Staff regarding the quality of laboratory service provided. Collaborates with the involved parties to investigate and improve areas of concern8. Participates on interdisciplinary Performance Improvement teams to improve the service provided to the clients of the HospitalsEducationMasters or Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology, or other related discipline is required.Experience RequiredFour (4) years of related experience the Masters, or six (6) years with the Bachelors Degree is required.Other Requirements(Certificates)Registration with ASCP or equivalent registration from country of origin is required for Non-Saudis.
