POSITION SUMMARYThe Project Engineer position is a broad role with many interfaces, both internal and external to Air Products. This position will report to the Middle East Hydrogen Refueling Systems Manager. The position location is DTV, Saudi Arabia.This position will provide the candidate with an opportunity to work closely with customers and requires interface with numerous internal organizations including Commercial, Logistics, Product Management, Customer Service, and Operations.NATURE AND SCOPETypical projects involve compression equipment along with associated controls, piping, and gas storage. Projects are a combination of engineer-to-order systems to meet the hydrogen needs of our customers as well as product-based systems to provide low cost solutions for various applications. A particular focus is the deployment of hydrogen infrastructure for fuel cell powered vehicles.The successful candidate will provide technical bid support to the Commercial team. Upon execution of a contract, the successful candidate will be responsible to act as the overall project engineer for the installation of the equipment.This challenging position offers an excellent opportunity for career development and practical engineering and project management experience.DIMENSIONS:Investments: from around $1MM to 10 MM for each opportunityDirect + Indirect Employees: 0- 3 per projectPRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIESThis position is accountable for the following end results:Participate in Air Products Basic Safety Program to drive safety performance to zero incidents.Design and manage new hydrogen fueling installations or modifications to existing systems from the proposal phase through implementation.Responsible for the overall schedule, budget, and technical performance for projects.Prepare scope of work documents detailing system design criteria.Conduct site evaluations to ensure compliance with NFPA and local regulations.Generate installation cost estimates, bills of materials, and detailed equipment layout, foundation, and flow schematic drawings.Prepare construction packages containing system details and drawings, budgetary information, safety checklists, and other installation requirements.Complete project closeout activities, including actual vs. budget cost justification and drawing as-builts.Work with Authorities have Jurisdiction to successfully obtain required permits.Follow all internal work processes for safety, engineering, project management, and operations.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONSThe candidate requires cross-functional engineering experience with a basic knowledge of project development and project engineering. Strong technical skills and an interest to apply them are critical to the position.Basic requirements include:Engineering degree from recognized university, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical EngineeringExcellent customer management skills5+ years Engineering experienceStrong computer skillsDemonstrated Project management skillsExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsSelf-directed, self-motivated, able to work independentlyAbility to travel to customer sites in the within the Middle East
