The primary objectives are to ensure that material resources are consistent with the production schedule, plans and prepares manufacturing schedules and workflows to establish sequences and lead time of each production operation to meet on-time delivery metrics. This position maintains an on-going business relationship with selected suppliers and daily interactions with shop personnel.Responsibilities & Requirements: Key Responsibilities:The Production Planner works within a team to handle the planning of the manufacturing operation as well as procurement of raw materials and supplies to support efficient operations.

  1. Develop production schedules to meet all finished goods on-time delivery requirements while maintaining target inventory levels, maximized efficiencies, and minimizing waste.
  2. Work closely with manufacturing and planning supervisors to ensure adherence to the schedule and targeted equipment performance.
  3. Coordinating production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.
  4. Proactively address and communicate schedule issues or sudden shifts in demand and adjusting production schedules to achieve targets.
  5. Proactively review raw material demands with Production to anticipate to anticipate shortages for assigned products.
  6. Responsible for purchasing and expediting assigned raw materials and supplies; determining quantity, vendor, and time required.
  7. Communicates effectively, as liaison between operations and customer service on any service issues.
  8. Maintain ERP system integrity by flagging discrepancies and noting necessary changes to data.
  9. Participate in department continuous improvement projects.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience / Skills: Qualifications:
  • Bachelor?s degree in related field
  • 3+ years previous purchasing and planning experience (inventory, MRPs)
  • Proficient in MS Office apps and ERP systems, such as Oracle and SAP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced, high pressure environment; excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work well within teams and groups
