Job Description

SummaryProvides user support services to the Radiology Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), store images taken by various types of medical equipment, such as X-rays, in order to enable easy access to these images for medical and ensure the day-to-day management and maintenance of the system.Essential Responsibilities and Duties2. Stores and prepare images, and to provide overall maintenance to the system. Uses picture archiving and communications system (PACS) to deliver digital images to better assist with patient treatment.3. Documents system requirements acts as a liaison between radiology/cardiology or other clinical staff, radiologists/cardiologists, and ordering physicians in designing the structure of a system.4. Supports technical staff and supervises PACS training for radiologists, clinicians, nurses and technical support staff.5. Supervises and manages the PACS help desk. Documents all PACS procedures and Participates in patient workflow analysis.6. Collaborates with physicians and vendors to ensure all functions are working appropriately. Works closely and coordinates with assigned PACS site engineer.7. Trains Radiology staff in using PACS workstations and assists in workstation distribution. Provides PACS orientation for new employees.8. Customizes user default display protocols. Updates and maintains the PACS system.9. Identifies and monitors on-going productivity measures, as according to hospital/departmental requirements using the assigned PACS software.10. Ensures all Radiology images are stored in the back-up system and Helps with new medical imaging, analyse support data, implement and integrate upgrades.11. Updates Radiology staff (Radiologists and Supervisors) on PACS implementation and operational issues.12. Assists other hospital Departments in their integration with PACS. Works with information technology to efficiently process data information.13. Monitors system downtime and supervises the maintenance contract with the provider.14. Follows all Hospitals related Policies and Procedures.15. Participates in self and others education, training and development, as applicable.16. Performs other related duties as assigned.EducationMasters or Bachelors Degree in Radiological Technology or other related discipline is required.Experience RequiredFour (4) years of related experience with Masters, or six (6) years of relatedexperience with Bachelors Degree is required.Other Requirements(Certificates)

  • Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
  • Registration in the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent is required for non-Saudis is required
