National Transportation Manager - LTL

Job Description

The National Transportation Manager (LTL) will be responsible for managing lower-than-truckload transportation operations across Saudi Arabia.Client DetailsOur client is a leading 3PL company with a wide portfolio of clients and customers across the region .DescriptionPlan and optimize the routing and scheduling of LTL shipments to minimize transportation costs, ensure timely deliveries, and maximize resource utilization.Select, negotiate with, and manage carrier relationships. This includes maintaining a carrier network, negotiating rates and contracts, and monitoring carrier performance to ensure compliance with service level agreements.Coordinate the movement of multiple LTL shipments from different clients to ensure efficient consolidation and deconsolidation of freight, reducing empty miles, and optimizing load factors.Analyze freight costs, transportation rates, and other related expenses to identify opportunities for cost savings and cost-effectiveness in LTL operations.Communicate with clients to provide updates on shipment status, estimated delivery times, and address any transportation-related inquiries or concerns.Ensure all necessary documentation, such as bills of lading, shipping manifests, and customs paperwork, are accurately completed and maintained for each LTL shipment. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, transit times, carrier performance, and overall transportation efficiency. Take proactive measures to address any performance issues.Handle and resolve any transportation-related issues, such as delays, damages, and discrepancies, in a timely and effective manner. Collaborate with carriers, clients, and internal teams to find solutions.Utilise transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant technology to optimize route planning, track shipments in real-time, and generate performance reports.Identify areas for process improvement within LTL operations, implement best practices, and develop strategies to enhance transportation efficiency and reduce costs.If applicable, oversee a team of transportation coordinators or planners, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure smooth LTL operations.Identify and mitigate potential risks related to LTL transportation, including regulatory compliance, safety concerns, and supply chain disruptions.Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies in LTL transportation to adapt strategies and approaches as needed.Foster positive relationships with clients by understanding their specific transportation needs, addressing concerns, and providing tailored solutions to meet their LTL requirements.ProfileExperience leading LTL transportation operations is mandatoryExperience in express transportation is mandatoryMinimum 5 years of experience in a relevant roleJob OfferAttractive salary package and benefitsCareer development and growth
