National Inventory Manager

Job Description

Job Mission:The Inventory Manager is responsible for keeping records of all stock available inside the warehouse and premises and compile accuracy reports and audit results.He has to?ensure?stocks are accurate and compliant with storage policies and procedures.?Job Responsibilities:

• Plan, schedule, and manage cycle counts and stock take activities, following stock rotation and accuracy objectives and MLS standards.
• Monitor activities on stock and locations, analyzing these activities, and deriving logistics decisions.
• Perform regular slotting (SKU or item allocation to a physical location) and re-slotting activities for forwarding pick areas and reserve locations, optimizing SKU locations to increase the overall warehouse operations performance, particularly picking.
• Contribute towards policies and procedures for cycle counting stock based on specific customer requirements or MLS best practices and ensure they are performed promptly without interrupting other activities in the warehouse.
• Manage the process of relocating stock within the facility, either as part of a slotting exercise, for maintenance, locating and identifying lost stock and displaced items, etc?
• Verify inventory accuracy by comparing physical stock to system stock, investigating discrepancies, and adjusting errors.
• Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, labels, or by electronic means (WMS system updates).
• Manage products and storage location statuses in the WMS system and physically on the floor, changing from one type to another. Example: putting items or locations on hold for curing purposes, damage, recalls, etc?
• Determine proper storage methods and identification based on product properties, environmental factors, and facility capabilities.
• Manage and perform quality checks on items, either randomly, based on a schedule, or other means, to ensure items are clear of wear and defects and compliant with vendor specification (e.g. temperature sampling on receiving or during storage).

• Number of defects or damages during storage
• Number of received defects or damages identified during storage instead of on receiving
• Minimized total travel distance and time for warehouse activities by week/month/year
• % of completed scheduled cycle counts or full stock takes

Self Development:

• Ensure the alignment of the companys best practice and initiate the development plan based on the outcome of the PDR and Career Development Plan.
• Ensure performance review with the line manager every quarter and agree on the action plan.

Performance Management:

• PDR for the Team: Team up with the HR partner to prepare and timely submit PDRs for all Team Members, and ensure process completed on time as company communication and direction.

Organization & People Development:

• Development (Coaching & Training): Identify Team training needs and work with his Team and HR to ensure skills gapes are covered through systematic coaching and training courses & on the job coaching?

Building Team Talents:

• Build an Area pool of talents to allow for promotions from within and to supply the organization with capable Sales Managers, Supervisors & front lines.
