SummaryPerforms a variety of Histo-chemical, Microscopic, Immunological, procedures/testing in the Clinical Laboratory to obtain accurate data for diagnosis and treatment of disease.Essential Responsibilities and Duties2. Assists section supervisor in the appropriate dissemination of information in inter shift, intersectional, and departmental communication.3. Ensures optimum levels of supplies are available to provide uninterrupted servicesassists in ordering supplies and maintains the supply inventory system.Operates within cost effective practices of section.4. Assists in the evaluation of new methodologies/equipment. Assists in the revision of policy and procedure manuals in accordance with specified guidelines.5. Processes surgical pathology specimens. Performs minor gross descriptions, frozensection, cutting of paraffin blocks, routine hematoxylin and eosin staining aswell as histochemical stains. Performs specialized task (Immunohistochemicalstains, muscle histochemistry, in-situ hybridization, Immunoflourescence) after proper training. 6. Maintains records as per Hospital established Medical Laboratory standards. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment. Maintains Quality Control programs of the section and participates in the Quality Assurance programs of the department.EducationBachelors of science in Medical Technology or related discipline is required.Experience RequiredTwo (2) years of related experience with Bachelors Degree is required.Grade 9:.Four (4) years as Medical Technologist, Histology at KFSH&RC. .Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years. . Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME].Other Requirements(Certificates)-Registration as HTL (ASCP) or HT(ASCP), AIMLS, AIMS,or NZIMLT is required.
